Eleven stacks to own in fantasy this season

By: Josh Frey-Sam
A good stack can win you a league.
The first duo on this list proved that last season, so let me share my top stacks to own in 2025.
I. Joe Burrow & Ja’Marr Chase
What can I say about these two?
They are the best connection in the NFL, and it’s been that way for a couple of seasons.
Last season was their best: a WR1 overall finish for Chase, who won the triple crown while commanding 175 targets, and a QB3 overall finish for Burrow, who was forced to toss for 43 touchdowns and nearly 5,000 yards.
I don’t expect much to change in the way of game script for the Bengals this season. They will need to put up a lot of points to win games, which makes them the perfect team to have stock in for fantasy.
This connection is as strong as ever, and the opportunities are off the charts for Chase, which makes him one of the safest players to own this season.
Get ready for fireworks again.
II. Dak Prescott & CeeDee Lamb
The Dallas Cowboys duo is my favourite stack entering the season, though I can’t rank it No. 1.
Need I remind you what 2023 brought? A WR1 overall finish from Lamb, who caught 135 passes (181 targets) for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, and a QB3 overall finish from Prescott, who tossed for over 4,500 yards and 36 touchdowns.
I can’t wait to watch a healthy Prescott this season, and the presence of George Pickens will do wonders for both Lamb and Prescott’s fantasy seasons.
III. Trevor Lawrence & Brian Thomas Jr.
Let me call my shot here.
If you’ve been following this newsletter, you know I’ve already expressed my stance on TLaw this season.
I think he’s going to be really good this year.
And Thomas Jr., one of the ascending stars in this league, will be the main beneficiary.
I truly believe Liam Coen is going to have a major impact on this offence and Lawrence could have the best year of his career. That can only mean good things for his top weapon, who now has Travis Hunter to take away some of the attention.
If TLaw can finish as a top-eight quarterback, this should be one of the best stacks to own this year. Let me remind you that BTJ finished as the WR6 overall with Mac Jones throwing him the ball.
It’s okay to expect even more in 2025.
IV. Jalen Hurts & AJ Brown
Did we forget about this stack?
I think a lot of people did, because I’m not seeing enough talk about the Philadelphia Eagles’ duo.
Does this offence still run through Saquon Barkley? Sure does.
I also believe we’ll see a slightly more pass-heavy attack from the Eagles, as they experience a bit more resistance in the running game.
That should lend to another rock-solid season for Brown, who was still really good when he was healthy last season.
I think Hurts and Brown remind everyone that they’re still one of the best connections in the league.
Injuries and a possessed Saquon impacted their output last season, but these two also combined for a pair of terrific seasons in 2022 and 2023 when Brown finished as the WR5 and WR7, respectively, and Hurts ended as the QB3 and QB2, respectively.
V. Baker Mayfield & Mike Evans
About as steady as they come.
Would anyone blink if Mike Evans caught another 10 touchdown passes this season? Probably not, considering he’s done it four of the last five years.
Even with some fresh, younger faces in the mix, Evans remains Baker’s No. 1 guy, and that’s a good thing for a team that is willing to let their quarterback sling it all over the yards.
Baker’s 4,500 passing yards and 41 touchdown QB4 season from 2024 is likely to regress slightly, but a top-10 campaign feels like a great bet.
Meanwhile, Evans has been a top 10 WR in four of the last five years, and it seems injury would be the only thing that prevents him from pushing for that finish again.
VI. Kyler Murray & Trey McBride
Murray should be even better in 2025, and he’ll only do that if McBride is at full strength.
VII. Justin Herbert & Ladd McConkey
Perhaps the surprise stack to own in 2025.
IX. CJ Stroud & Nico Collins
If Stroud is better protected and Nico stays healthy, this duo can wreak havoc this season.
VIII. Bo Nix & Courtland Sutton
Man, Bo was good last season. Sutton is such a safe pick this year. This duo doesn’t present the highest ceiling, but the floor feels really high.
X. Caleb Williams & DJ Moore
Do your thing, Ben Johnson.
XI. Justin Fields & Garrett Wilson
Wilson is going to be hyper-targeted, and please don’t forget the kind of numbers Fields can put up with his legs.
HM. Patrick Mahomes & Rashee Rice
This duo was white hot to begin last season, and I see them picking up where they left off.
Thanks for reading and, as always, have a great day.
