Gettin' busy in dynasty

What a Sunday it was for us.

I executed a pair of trades on Sunday afternoon that have really shaped our newly acquired dynasty team for the future.

Those who have followed along know that last month I took over a rebuilding team in need of direction. Frankly, it was a mess, but I’m confident we’re on a promising road back to relevance.

I’m chronicling every step so you can see my approach to rebuilding a team and dynasty football as a whole.

With these last two deals, we’re up to four trades. Here are the most recent deals:

Deal 1: Zach Charbonnet for Dalton Kincaid + 2027 3rd round pick

This was a deal with a contending team that needed some running back depth. Part of a rebuild — and dynasty in general — is identifying your most valuable assets and maximizing their return.

I’m very much on the fence about Charbonnet’s dynasty outlook. He’s coming off an ACL injury and is in the last year of his rookie deal with Seattle. With rookie Jadarian Price now in the fold, his future with the Hawks is murky at best, but I knew that his touchdown upside could be appealing to a contending team.

While it’s tough to move on from a RB, getting Dalton Kincaid and a pick in return was about as much as I could’ve asked for. I’m very bullish on Kincaid this season, and another part of this rebuild is identifying buy-low candidates who I could flip again for an even greater return.

Kincaid fits the bill for this. I wouldn’t mind him being a part of my team when I’m ready to contend, but if he has the season I think he will, he could turn into one of my most valuable assets.

Deal 2: Michael Wilson + 2027 3rd round pick for Jalen McMilan + 2027 2nd round pick

This was a deal made with an emerging contender who could’ve used a more reliable WR3/4 on his roster.

This was really a deal that made sense for both of us, as McMilan and Wilson’s ages coincide with the direction of our respective teams.

Wilson is a guy I was actively shopping, trying to use him as a sweetener to a bigger deal. There’s a lot of hesitation around Wilson right now, though, so it would need to be the right partner.

McMilan ended up being the perfect buy-low for me to target. He’s in a situation in Tampa Bay where he will see a ton of snaps this season, and although he’ll begin the season as the clear No. 3 option in the WR room, his talent suggests that he could be a big part of the Bucs’ future and have a much larger role as early as next season.

The fact that I was able to get a pick swap out of this and move up a few spots in a loaded 2027 draft class was also exciting.

In all, we got slightly younger and more rounded as a team.

Adding up the four deals I’ve made since joining last month, here is what we’re looking at:

Acquired: Jaxson Dart, Tank Bigsby, Matthew Golden, Antonio Williams, Dalton Kincaid, Jalen McMillan, 2nd round pick (2027) and 3rd round pick (2027)

Lost: Josh Allen, JK Dobbins, Zach Charbonnet and Michael Wilson

Young and on the come up. We will need a couple of these players to develop into stars or find some through the draft before we get into contention, but I couldn’t be happier about the outlook for this team.
